Cabana Burgers & Shakes

Burgers and milkshakes are two things that just go together perfectly, so of course the Tastemakers crew was excited to visit Cabana Burgers & Shakes’ brand new location in Mount Pleasant!

To start, we ordered a round of colorful cocktails including the spicy Mexican Martini and fruity Rum Punch. A standout drink, which is actually listed on the appetizer menu, was the One and Done, a bloody Mary garnished with a full meal’s worth of jalapeño bacon, chicken wings, grilled shrimp and a burger.

Then the feast began! The Baja Salad bowl, served in a fried tortilla shell and topped seared ahi tuna, kicked off the meal on a light and refreshing note.

We then sampled the pimento cheese-smothered Cabana Burger (our charity giveback item), which comes topped with fried green tomato and jalapeño bacon, as well as their zesty B.Y.O. Cilantro Lime Shrimp Tacos.

A favorite of the night was the super-creamy and addictive Mexican Street Corn Dip, served with tortilla chips.

Next it was time for more burgers, of course. We dug into a platter of Big Boy Burgers piled high with Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms and bacon jam. Kung Pao Cauliflower, served in adorable mini fryer baskets with ponzu sauce for dipping, made a deliciously crispy accompaniment.

To cap off an already fantastic dinner, we sampled Cabana’s epic lineup of milkshakes. We loved them all, but the over the top rainbow Unicorn Shake totally stole the show. The best part: you can make any of the shakes boozy by adding an alcohol floater!

Through June 26, $1 from every Cabana Burger sold will be donated to The McConnell Foundation, which supports pediatric cancer research in Charleston. We can’t think of a more delicious way to support this amazing cause.
