Nippitaty Distillery

With gin lovers and newbies in mind, Nippitaty Distillery is South Carolina’s first organic distillery. Founded in 2017 by Traxler Littlejohn, Nippitaty Distillery was born to formulate a new contemporary style of gin with complexity, citrus notes and a spicy body. They have quickly become a staple in CHS for a fun outing, small bites and handcrafted cocktails made with their impeccable gins and vodka.

Nippitaty’s signature spirits, organic gin and organic vodka.

We recently took refuge from 32 degree temps and visited for some cocktails, food and fun. We started strong with the Southern Charcuterie with duck + pork prosciutto, housemade buttermilk biscuits, jalapeño pimento cheese, candied pecans, and pickled okra. And it wouldn’t be southern dining without boiled peanuts; so luckily Nippitaty had us covered with their own take: “Gin Tea” Boiled Peanuts made by brining and boiling the peanuts in their own gin tea!

Nippitaty’s small but mighty menu also includes a Turkey & Brie Sammy with green apples and pesto, the Nippitaty Salad with goat cheese, candied pecans and a house-made green goddess OR mint + tonic dressing, and a Seasonal Galette, which for us was adorned with pears, goat cheese, prosciutto and balsamic.

Drinks of the night were just as their namesake suggested, particularly good and strong! We had a Lemon Drop Shot to start the night with a bang, followed by the English Mojito. made with Nippitaty flagship gin, mint, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup. The Tom Collins is also not-to-be missed, made with Organic Gin, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup and club soda.
